New Age

I dicided that I enjoyed the other prologue more. That is the one that the story is based off of. I will leave this one here for those interested in reading it. It has not been updated and will not be updated.

Alternate Prologue

In the future the inhabitants of Earth under go a massive evolution. A new age of Earth is born. Much of the world's ecology was damaged and reformed into a twisted version of its former self. The evolutionary mutations of the human race were split in many directions. All though the humanoid structure or frame were still in tact, the underlying traits for each new species were altered.

The first most visually obvious species to develop from humans became known as Guemen. The visually note able trait of the Guemen is their size. Guemen grew to about seven feet tall and doubled in body mass. The increase in mass was one hundred percent muscle. Their arms would extend almost to the knees. The hands were doubled in size. This limited the fine motor skills possessed by the rest of the humans. In addition the Guemen tend to live twice as long as the other species of humanoid. The average Gueman would live to one hundred ninety years, yet would still reach physical maturity by thirty years. This extended life is caused by a hyper-immune system and the extremely rapid cellular regeneration traits they possessed. This hyper-immune system protected them from nearly every biological infection known. The Guemens immune system and regeneration was so advanced, that when they touched an infection or wound on another humanoid for an extended period that humanoid would recover as if they were a Gueman them self.

The Guemen were the first species to spin off of humans, and because of this it was the scariest time during The New Age. The Guemen were looked at in two ways. Guemen were either loved for their abilities to cure the worst biological infections or they were hated for being different. At this time the Gueman only populated about ten percent of population, but with the increased life span their population would increase into the future. Eventually the majority would become the minority. The powers that controlled the government, however misguided, turned on the Guemen. The government feared they would loose their power over the population. They assumed the Guemen would overpower the humans when their numbers grew, and put the rest of the population into a submissive state of living. This form of thinking spread like wild fire through the governments around the world. A form of slavery and control of the Guemen went on planetary priority. Obviously not everyone agreed as humans tend to do, and the entire planet went into war.

Evolution didn't wait for the war to end. The next species emerged in about forty percent of the remanding human population, Virens as they would be known, could manipulate an object without even touching it. Virens didn't acquire this at birth rather it developed around the end of puberty. Every Viron however is not created equal. Some could only handle small objects no larger then a basketball. Some could control lifting and moving of a car freely. Some Virens in addition also possessed the ability to control temperature around them. The most powerful Virens while rare could actually freeze air or burst it into flame.

When the Virens started to pop up around the world, the government couldn't hope to battle with two more advanced species of human that had the potential to crash planes and divert missiles and turn weapons around to the attackers. Then recover from a battle with the help of a Guemen. The government attempted to reconcile its wrongdoing, but was overthrown. The new government that was established appeared to be honest and true but was actually controlled by an elitist group of Virens that wanted even more power. At first it was only Virens, but later Guemen that had distaste for the oppression they once had joined the elitist group. The elitists began to select the people with the greatest evolutionary advantage. When the elitist's secret society was revealed to the world it was almost to late. More then a third of the evolved community was backing the elites, and it was the stronger half of the evolved. Eventually what the first government feared actually came true as a direct result of the previous war. The elitists attempted to enslave the remaining humans, but the entire population of evolved didn't agree with elitists. So the elitist would attempt to enslave the weaker in all three species.

Again war started. This war was not fought like past wars, because massive amounts of technological advances made in the past age of humanity were practically useless against the Virens manipulation of objects. An extremely rare amount of Virens could even stop bullets in flight. This war was a battle of powers and numbers didn't mater when the elites controlled the most powerful.

Survival of the fittest seemed to be The New Age's underlying theme. Even the animals of the planet were undergoing the same types of struggles. New species were spawning everywhere and the planetary habitat was in constant flux. The remaining humans were dwindling when another evolution sparked. While the elitists controlled more then sixty percent of the world they didn't control one human that gave birth to another evolved version of humanity. The remaining humans gave birth to the third and most resent evolution. This species, which brought balance back into humanity, became known as Emmens. Emmens similar to Virens didn't show signs of evolution until after puberty. When the Emmens first reached puberty they haunted those around them before they figured out they could speak to others with out actually speaking. At first that seemed to be all an Emmon could do, but then some developed the ability to distort other peoples perception in minor ways. Some of most advanced Emmen could actually create grand illusions that could mislead large numbers of people. Another portion of Emmen, which would hold the key to balancing a government, could actually understand hidden emotions or underlying motives of a person at the fundamental level of thought, but these Emmon couldn't create illusions. While an Emmon could easily confuse an attacker they didn't have an offensive abilities. Guemen could crush with melee force. Virens could manipulate the environment with range. The Emmen could only confuse these types of attacks. They possessed no counter attack.

With the power of communication and illusion, the elites became underpowered in a major way. It was obvious that a new species with abilities that seemed undetectable was giving the other faction an advantage. The war became one sided as the elitist lost ground so fast it became apparent that surrender was the only option. The war ended.

Every single human on the planet was tired of fighting. The world desperately needed a government that could hold with such diversity in the human genes. An Emmon with very advanced reading sold the idea of an eleven-person council. The council would be made up of four Guemen, four Viren and three Emmens with Reading abilities. Emmen with the gift of illusion would not be allowed to govern. Powerful Emmens with the gift of illusion could easily trick hundreds of people, proven during the war, and because of this they would not be given the temptation of government positions.
